“Why We Should Voice Our Opinion”

Down through the ages, there have been lots of spiritual people who came to spread the word and go against the grain of popular thinking. And we should take their lead and speak up against injustice.

Jesus – Jesus was a dissenter, Jesus was in his own way going against the grain and doing things much different from what the Rabbi’s liked. Jesus tossed out the money lenders and he was willing to put himself at risk to help the average person and give him hope. But Jesus did all of this with great humility and on the last night before his calling, he got down on his knees and washed the feet of the 12 disciples, anointed them with oil, and kissed their feet.

Buddha – Buddha also was a dissenter, he talked about how to end suffering, and how to live a simple life and let go of worries and desires. And this went against the teachings of many of those in his day were gathering wealth and doing whatever they pleased according to their 5 senses. Thus even though Buddha sought to love all people in the same way… he too had enemies. For Buddha spoke about injustice and the suffering he saw all around him… and many people did not like that.

Gandhi – Gandhi was a simple man who talked about freedom. How to bring about freedom in a peaceful way. How to abstain from many of the earthly pleasures and how to obtain what we need without violence. He never lifted a hand against anyone, only praised everyone and tried to be the peacemaker between all groups. Yet he too had many enemies because they felt he was a meddler. Yet Gandhi spoke out and did what he had to do every single day.

Swami Vivekananda – Swami Vivekananda was one of the first people from India to come to the US. Vivekananda was spreading the word about religious freedom and tolerance. And he also took an active role in inspiring women to speak up and have the same rights as men. Yet he too had enemies that did not like him and he was thought to be an outsider causing problems.

Krishna – Krishna was a spiritual teacher that came to India to teach the middle way. Krishna taught yoga, devotion to God, and how to live a selfless giving life. And even today Krishna is revered and loved by lots of people. Yet Krishna had many enemies that wanted to do him harm.

All of these people and more have stood up to say what they needed to share with others. They were not afraid of what might happen to them, they had a mission, something that had to be done, something that needed to get out to everyone.

And right now people are protesting around the world because they see injustice being done and they need to speak up. They are no different than any of the people above… Truth is Truth… Truth is God… God is Love… and Love is God.

So Stand Up and Say What You Need to Say

Many Blessings to Everyone!

“Organic Corn Ramen— A Quick and Simple Dish”

“Full of Great Nutrition”

Here is my favorite dish that’s very easy to fix— it only takes 6 or 7 minutes from start to finish and it’s full of great nutrition. Ramen noodles can be found all over the world and I believe many college students owe their life to ramen noodles because they are fast, easy, and inexpensive. But those commercial ramen noodles are full of lots of sodium and are low in nutritional value.

Healthy Organic Corn Ramen Noodles

Well here is my version which is super healthy and it’s still inexpensive and full of the great nutrition of organic corn and kale. And this version of ramen noodles contains less than 400 calories for the whole meal, plus it’s very filling.

Another Whole Foods Plant Based Diet Recipe

Ingredients:

2 – Oz of Organic Brown Rice and Millet Ramen Noodles – Cooked – or brown rice noodles will also do. Ramen noodles cook in about 4 minutes.

1 – Cup of Organic Fresh Corn or Frozen – Steamed

1/2 – Cup of Organic Fresh Kale – Chopped

2 – Cups of Organic Low Sodium Veggie Stock — Hot— or 2 Sodium-Free Veggie Bouillon Cubes Dissolved in Hot Filtered Water.

Salt and Pepper to Taste – Take it easy on the salt… we want to keep this a low sodium dish.

Take the cooked ramen noodles and place them in a bowl and add the corn and kale and pour on the hot veggie stock.

If you like it spicy add a little bit of hot sauce.

That’s It!

Makes One Serving

Health Benefits of Organic Corn

Corn contains lots of very healthy antioxidants such as coumaric acid, caffeic acid, anthocyanins, ferulic acid, vanillic acid, syringic acid, and protocatechuic acid and lots of beta-carotene all of which help to prevent and repair DNA damage thus helping to prevent disease. And blue corn contains hydroxybenzoic acid which is a very powerful antioxidant and purple corn contains another antioxidant protocatechuic acid. And drying corn at high temperatures does not lower the antioxidant benefit of corn.

Corn contains a large amount of Short Chain Fatty Acids which help to prevent colon disease and cancer. Corn contains lots of fiber which is important for providing a good environment for the growth of probiotic bacteria which boosts up our immune system. One cup of corn contains about 4.6 grams of fiber making it high fiber food. And corn fiber also helps to prevent cardiovascular disease, strokes, cancer, and constipation.

Corn does contain fat, but most of that fat is unsaturated good fats which are important for great health. 1 cup of organic corn contains about 5 grams of protein, making corn a nice source of protein. Corn contains zeaxanthin and lutein which help to prevent macular degeneration. Corn may also be able to lower blood pressure by preventing angiotensin-I converting enzyme from being produced… more studies to be done.

Consuming 1 or 2 cups of whole corn daily has been shown to stabilize blood sugar levels for those with type 1 and 2 diabetes… more than likely due to the high fiber content of the corn. Corn contains lectins and those lectins bind with viruses and thus inhibiting the growth of certain viral agents. There are many different types of corn including white, yellow, blue, red, purple, and even black types of corn.

The average ear of corn contains fewer calories than a large apple and only has about 1/4 the sugar content, making corn a healthy food. The average ear of corn on the cob has fewer calories than a large apple. Most people think that corn is fattening… but that’s not true, it’s just all the butter and oil that we put on corn that makes it high in calories.

Lots of cultures that live to be very old incorporate whole organic corn into their diet.

Remember to Eat Organic – Regular fruits, veggies, and grains contain up to 6 cancer causing chemicals, 12 hormone-disrupting chemicals, and another 10 disease causing chemicals… Not Good – Always Eat Organic and Stay Healthy!

Enjoy this quick and simple yet nutritious meal

“The Actor Who Portrayed Jesus Had Powerful Experiences”

The actor who portrayed Jesus in the movie “The Passion” had some powerful experiences that took place during and after the filming of the movie.

The actor Jim Caviezel’s first experience was during the filming of the scourging of Jesus with the cat of nine-tails. And by accident, while filming they got a little too close with the flog and tore through his shirt and into his back creating excruciating pain. This was nothing close to what Jesus would have experienced with the hundreds of lashes all over his body.

Next, Jim had to drag that heavy cross for a very long time. In fact, Jim only weighed 158 pounds, but the cross weighed 210 pounds so it was very difficult for him to drag the cross. And he did fall down a few times and did need help while dragging the cross. Very similar to what happened to Jesus while dragging the cross.

Then all of a sudden, Jim came down with pneumonia and his lungs filled with fluid. This very similar to what happened when Jesus was dying on the cross and his lungs filled with fluid.

Also on the last day of filming Jim as struck by lightening. And this is similar to what happened on the day Jesus died with thunder and lightning and the ground shook.

And Jim doesn’t talk about this much… but after filming he had to have heart surgery. Is this similar to what happened to Jesus when they pierced his side and heart with a spear?

I will let you decide about all of this.

But for me, I know without the doubt, that we have had lots of great avatars come to show us the way, to show us the light, to show us that we are loved. And that we need to open our hearts and start loving the God within every single heart on the planet.

Many Blessings to Everyone!

“3 Simple Exercises for Healing Anxiety”

“We Have Lots of People With Anxiety Right Now – What Can We Do?”

The world is filled with lots of people with anxiety right now… what can we do to heal that feeling within? Here are 3 simple yet powerful exercises that can heal anxiety.

Living in the Here-and-Now – Most people are always thinking about what might happen and they totally forget about what they have now. Right now everything is totally fine, we have food to eat, and a roof over our head, what more could we ask for? But when we constantly think about negative things in the future we create anxiety. So it’s extremely important that we pull our mind back from the brink of anxiety by always living in this moment… as the only moment that exists. That seems simple yet it takes great practice to live in the here-and-now.

First Exercise – Here is a great exercise that everyone should try. Start listening to what you are thinking. What are you thinking now? Is it a thought about the past? Is it a thought about the future? Or are you here right now aware in this present moment? If you are somewhere other than being in the here-and-now then remind yourself that the past is already over and the future has not arrived yet and bringing your mind back to this moment. Today do this process all day long, and also tomorrow, and for the rest of the week. Thus creating a habit of living in the here-and-now.

Second Exercise – Pick up a piece of fruit. Smell the fruit, what does the fruit smell like? Feel the texture of the fruit, what does it feel like? Notice the color and try to name the color of the fruit. Place the fruit near your check and notice if the fruit feels hot, cold, or normal temperature and tell yourself what that temperature feels like. Next, take a knife and cut a piece of the fruit and notice how the knife cuts through the fruit, is it hard? Is it soft? Is it a medium density fruit? Tell yourself what that experience is like. Now, look at the color of the inner part of the fruit, what color would you call that inner part of the fruit?

Next, smell the freshly cut fruit and try to describe that smell as best as you can. Now, take a bit of the fruit and notice the texture of the fruit, is it soft, hard, gritty, smooth, what would you call that texture? Now, what does that fruit taste like, is it sweet, sour, bitter, or acid? How would you describe the flavor of the fruit? Now decide if you like the fruit or not and tell yourself why. This is all about living in the here-and-now. Most of what we do all day long is done so automatically that we gulp down our food and drink and never experience anything about the world we live in.

Third Exercise – Now, sit quietly for a few minutes. What do you hear around you? Can you describe those sounds, do you know what they are? Perhaps there is a bird outside singing. Now, tell yourself what that sound is. What is the temperature of the room like? Is it hot? Is it cold? Is it just right? Tell yourself about the comfort of the room temperature. Now, what do you smell around you in the room? Is there an odor of some kind? Then describe that odor to yourself. Perhaps there are flowers in the room, and they are giving off a scent.

Next, feel your body, what are you feeling in your feet? Are they comfortable? Now, describe what you are feeling in your feet. Now, go to your lower legs, what are you feeling in your lower legs? Are they tense, achy, feeling comfortable, do they feel good, what are you feeling in your lower legs? Now, move up to your upper legs and hips, what are you feeling in your upper legs and hips? And then move up into your abdomen, what are you feeling in your abdomen? Describe that feeling. Next, move up into your neck and shoulders, what are you feeling in your neck and shoulders? Describe that feeling. And then move to your arms, back, and head and describe exactly what you are feeling in every part of your body. This may seem like a simple exercise, but most people have totally forgotten how to be in touch with their body… they are just too busy to even notice their body.

After These 3 Exercises – After doing these 3 exercises how do you feel? Perhaps, this is the first time in years that you have been present in the here-and-now and feel a bit more relaxed and calm. This process has been used in clinical settings to help people to be present and stop thinking so much. In fact, it’s been found that people who have had one heart attack and then taught this process have an 85% lower chance of having a second heart attack.

Being free of anxiety is really how we are supposed to live… noticing all the little things around us. This is a small glimpse of what it must have been like for Henry David Thoreau who lived for a year “On Walden Pond”. And wrote about his experience of in a book by the same name… noticing all the small things going on in nature around him.

Relax, slow down, live in the here-and-now and let go of anxiety. This is our God-given right… this is the inner calm and peace that we are supposed to feel every single day.

Many Blessings to Everyone!
