Make your own Herbal Oils and Ointments

Herbal Oils and Ointments make great gifts and are very useful. Place together 4 ounces of the fresh herbs or 2 ounces of dried herbs with 1 pint of, canola, olive, safflower, sesame, or other oil.  Slowly heat on low temp uncovered for 1 hour. Let cool, then take the oil and strain, bottle, and cap. For ointment add 1-1/2 ounces of beeswax to the oil as it heats, let it cool and bottle. You might use rosemary, lavender, chamomile, or roses — let your imagination run wild.
