Thanks for this post. I am trying to come at it from the approach of actually shopping for the herbs themselves and using them in cooking. A person can go broke trying to buy all these pills that claim to contain THE formulation that works.
It may not work out, but seems to me to cover all the illnesses and degenerative conditions folks go through in life you could easily spend $1,000 to $1,500 a month.
…and you are still going to die sometime.
Trying to work the herbs themselves into come kind of nutrient rich/calorie restricted (as I *think* those in the know on life extension recommend) diet/cuisine seems to me a rational approach to follow.

    Again, thanks for the post.

    • HI-Tim,

Sorry my friend it doesn’t work that way.

If you do this you will destroy your liver in a very short period of time.

All herbs burden our liver – and weaken it over time,

That is why all herbs should only be taken for 7 to 10 days max.

      Just like medications.

Food is the best way to heal – eat organic – and if you get sick take some herbs.

but there are some food herbs that work well like turmeric, chlorella, and a few more.

And every herb works differently for every different person just like some people have antibiotics that work for them and that same antibiotic will not work for others.

And some people have anti-depressant medications that work for them and that same medication will not work for others.

The same goes for herbs and supplements – we are all different

      Many Blessings My Friend

Thanks for taking the time to give me a detailed response. I will certainly take it to heart. Two things I am doing now are using Turmeric and Cinnamon. Turmeric I add to soups and use it in place of black pepper on my eggs.

Cinnamon I add to my hot chocolate…not the store mixes but made from pure ground cocoa so I can control the sugar content. Bitter is actually better, I was surprised to find. Been thinking on trying out the way (the Aztecs?) drank it, black like coffee with some chili powder mixed in…I may have butchered that but will look into it more later.

Is milk thistle one of the ones you can take everyday? I ask because I have to take pain meds regularly due to injuries I received in 2014. It sometimes causes elevated liver enzymes.

Again, thanks for taking the time to warn me about the effects of herbs on the liver. I had not considered that.

  4. Hi-Tim,

No herbs, no supplement, no medication, should be taken for longer than 7 to 10 days.

The best way to heal is with food – and your diet is not good my friend

We now have thousands of scientific articles showing that animal protein causes acid in the body, and that acid causes inflammation and that inflammation causes disease – heart disease, strokes, cancer, diabetes, and much more. We are not like dogs, cats, lions, bears and such that have a acid based body and thrive on animal protein – we have an alkaline based body and do well with plants.

Food is the best way to heal – I am 63 year old now and I don’t have an ache, pain, or any kind of illness of any kind and I am eat according to my Whole Foods Plant Based Diet

And all the cultures that live to be over 100 years old on the planet are totally Plant Based groups of people that don’t eat any kind of red meat, chicken, turkey, lamb, eggs, milk, cheese, and anything else that comes from an animal.

Also did you know that Black Beans contain more antioxidants than Blueberrie? And they also are a powerful anti-inflammatory that helps amazingly with pain.

Here is my diet – if you want to live a long healthy life please follow my diet – OK

Whole Foods Plant Based Diet and Lifestyle

This diet must be follow exactly – OK

Please read this diet a couple of times it contains lots to of information

On a side note, I have several centenarians in my not too distant ancestry. I just decided to make some changes in order to let my genes do their work.

      I will do the reading.

Respectfully, I am going to have to disagree wit the zero tolerance for meat policy. Having said that, I agree that far too much meat is consumed.

Being LDS, we are taught that meat should be consumed sparingly in a doctrine called “The Word of Wisdom.”

      D&C 89: 11-13 says

11 Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof; all these to be used with prudence and thanksgiving.
      12 Yea, flesh also of beasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used sparingly;
13 And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be used, only in times of winter, or of cold, or famine.

Having read that again tonight in order to indicate we agree on a lot it occurred to me that taking an animal’s life for food is a serious business to the Lord. Not to be done lightly.

I am sure I am going to learn a lot from your website.

  5. We have the scientific evidence to back up being a vegan which can keep cancer from coming about, prevent diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and more – Watch the movies “Forks Over Knives” online for free and also “Plant Pure Nation” and read the book “The China Study” and you will learn a lot more– also watch the movies “Beautiful Truth” – and “The Gerson Miracle” all can be found on-line to watch – Many Blessings My Friend – Dr. Haider
