Just about all of us at one time or another have had tension headaches or migraines, and there are lots of great ways to get rid of then naturally.
Tension headaches and migraines many times are created by stress, so it’s very important to get your stress under control and manage your stress… thus your headaches will go way.
Mediation being the number one way to make headaches and migraines disappear and stay away… with just 15 minutes of meditation twice a day your stress will melt away, and your body and mind will reap the benefits.
Devils claw root is very good for helping with headaches, also white willow bark, and a little bit of ashwagandha root will help you feel better in no time at all… and feverfew is one of the best herbs for headaches, and you can try some boswellia for inflammation too which is part of the migraine process.
Here are a few other herbs that will help with headaches and migraines: Elderflowers, verbena, chrysanthemum, mullein, passion flower, black cohosh, lemon balm, and skullcap.
Music is very important for helping with headaches and stress too. There are lots of great studies showing that playing soft soothing music in the background can sooth way headaches and sooth away stress.
Herbal teas are great for tension headaches and migraines, try chamomile and peppermint, this combination will allow your tension to disappear.
Use aromatherapy for creating a peaceful environment that soothes away your pain and gets your mind off of work. You pick the sent, there are hundreds of different essential oils on the market… and you have specific memories of smells that are relaxing. So explore what makes you feel good and use that special aroma in candles, vaporizers, or dab it on your forehead to carry you way from your troubles.
Can’t sleep… then try valerian or kava kava capsules. Valerian will relax your whole body so you can drift off to sleep and feel at ease… and kava kava will do the same, both are great for stress.
Stay away from foods that trigger headaches and migraines, especially cheese, chocolate, peanuts, food additives of any kind, alcohol, smoked foods, junk food, fast food, yeast breads, dried fruit, dairy products, caffeine, pizza, nuts, canned foods, processed meats, bouillon, even artificial sweeteners, flavors, and preservatives will cause headaches and migraines.
Learn biofeedback, it’s as simple as noticing a light come on when you relax, and the light gets brighter when you relax deeper… with practice you can learn to relax deeply and naturally.
There are lots of wonderful new apps (many of them free) for smart phones that will help you relax. Even biofeedback apps, a huge amount for relaxation apps, self hypnosis apps, and even natural soothing sound apps that will help you relax and feel at ease… there are even apps made especially for those suffering from migraines.
You can find apps on how to breathe deep thus de-stress your mind and lower your blood pressure. Even apps for learning meditation and yoga, but learning meditation or yoga from a great teacher in person is priceless.
Do some counseling, many times issues from the past keep us from relaxing and feeling at peace, this takes time… but it’s well worth it.
And remember you’re human, you can only do so much in a day… let the rest happen tomorrow.
