To Cook or Not to Cook – The Benefits of Raw and Cooked Foods

In the beginning man gather food and later learned to cook, thus we were eating raw foods until we learned about fire and cooking… and both have health benefits.

Raw foods are full of natural nutrients, vitamins, live enzymes, and even Chi energy that can be seen with Kirlian Photography. With live foods we get most of the nutrients and but not only that we also gain Chi Energy that moves through our meridians providing essential health for every part of our living structure.

Raw foods are full of lots of wonderful antioxidants that keep us looking and feeling younger. At the same time lowering our possibilities of coming down with diseases such as cardiovascular disease, strokes, cancer, and auto-immune disease.

Raw foods boost our immune system and play important role in providing nutrients for hormones, enzymes, and neurotransmitters that work together in a symphony that is absolutely important for health and wellness.

Raw foods allow us to have better sleep, more vitality energy, better memory, plus hair, skin, and nails that are strong, beautiful, and full of luster.

On the average raw fruits and veggies have more fiber than cooked food, and are recognized  by the body as friendly foods and thus all the nutrients enter into the cells with ease. Raw Foods contain fiber and live enzymes that help with the digestion. Setting off a chain of reactions that trigger the proper breakdown and assimilation of our food. At the same time creating more bulk that moves along in the gut creating good elimination. Cooked foods can create toxins especially when we BBQ and end up with charing on the outside of meats and veggies.

With raw foods we gain many wonderful live nutrients that neutralize our cravings for foods thus we feel more at peace. We lose weight because raw foods are not as concentrated as cooked foods, thus we feel full quickly and the sensors in our stomach tell us we have everything we need in the way of nutrients. This sets off a cascade of effects in our brain telling us we are happy, peaceful, and no longer needing to worry about food.

Raw foods also lower cholesterol and triglycerides and at the same time increase good cholesterol. If you think about cocoa powder compared to raw cacao beans there are multiple times more nutrients in the raw version compared to the cooked and processed version. Thus raw foods play a vital role in creating health and vitality.

Cooked foods makes us feel happy when we eat them (comfort foods)… and some foods need to be cooked to extract all the nutrients from them. In fact many foods are toxic if not cooked, and cooked food kills pathogens that might be present in our foods, and because of that cooked foods do play a vital role in health and wellness.

Cooked foods unlock the digestibility of many foods like rice, corn, and many grains in general because many of the nutrients are locked inside protective layers of fibers thatmay not be digestible. Plus studies with fertility show that eating some cooked food does increase fertility.

The body considers all cooked foods invaders… and this starts the process of while cell production attacking the invading food, putting a huge stress on our immune system. And with all the stress in the world stressing the body with too much cooked food might not be good.

It’s all about balance!

It’s recommend to eat some where between 51% and 75% raw food… thus having a healthy immune system and having all the great nutrients we need.

Balance is the key to a happy healthy life.
