Everyone knows about the health benefits of mangos… but did you know that mango skin has many health benefits? That’s right mango skin is a powerhouse of healing agents… don’t throw it away!
Mango Skins are full of compounds that regulate cholesterol and fatty acids in the body. According to a study done at Queensland University these compounds connect with receptors in our cells called PPARs that control fats and cholesterol in our blood.
Also Mango Skin has the ability to regulate blood glucose levels too according to the same study. Mango Skin has more antioxidants than the mango itself so don’t throw it out… eat it!
One of the compounds in Mango Skin is Quercetin which helps to prevent cancer and also prevents cellular oxidation and damage. Mango Skin also contains another powerful antioxidant called norathyriol which helps to get rid of free radicals and thus slow the aging process and keep your body young.
