17 Ways to Heal a Childs Tummy Ache Naturally

There are lots of natural ways to help your child when they have a tummy ache.

Here are a few ways to make it better… and keep it from coming back.

Quality Time – First of all lots of GI problems are caused by stress and a child needs to feel loved and comforted. In this fast paced world where mothers and fathers are working multiple jobs it’s not easy. But if a mother and father takes the time to comfort, cuddle, and spend quality time with their child their GI problems will be much less frequent.

What Children Watch – You would be amazed what we watch in movies and on TV create changes in our bodies. Scientific studies show that we create tension in our bodies while watching movies and TV and that tension translates into ways of holding that tension, stress, and anxiety… and sometimes that means GI problems. If a child sees something like “Aliens” and ends up with a stomach ache… it goes to show that we hold emotions in our bodies. In fact Sigourney Weaver in the movie Aliens knew that monster was not real… but she had to go to counseling to deal with the stress.

Warmth – Nothing like a good old warm water bottle to sooth away tummy aches. – Works like a charm.

Eating Right – Lots of kids eat junk food and that creates all kinds of gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and more. Just adding greens of any kind, whole fruits, whole veggies, and whole grains to a diet can change everything – We need fiber, and fiber creates a good environment for probiotic bacteria to grow and thus that creates good colon health, and boosts the immune system. Thus kids don’t get sick as often and have more vitality.

Herbal Remedies– And there are herbal remedies that are great for tummy aches, marshmallow root, chamomile tea, slippery elm, small amount of activated charcoal, aloe vera, peppermint tea, ginger tea works wonders, and many more herbs will sooth the GI tract, get rid of gas, and help with diarrhea.

Bland Foods – Many times something sets off the GI tract and nothing is better than just eating bland foods for a while. None GMO Rice and Oatmeal are soothing for the GI tract.

Stress – Kids have stress too! Teaching them to meditate keeps them healthy. There is a lot of information on the mind/body and how meditation works to create a calm even in the GI tract. Plus studies by Dr. Dean Ornish shows that when we meditate we have good genes expressed and bad genes are not expressed. – Amazing! And kids love to meditate… I have taught many kids to meditate and they end up meditating for life… and they stay healthy.

Massage – It’s amazing that a little tummy rub, foot rub, and whole body massage can do to make GI troubles disappear. Nothing like a little love… to make everything better.

Wheat – Wheat is a highly inflammatory causing all kinds of GI problems… it’s important to remove wheat, spelt, and barley from their diet (barley and spelt are related to wheat).

No Fast Food and Processed Food – Fast food and processed food is full of lots of artificial chemicals, sweeteners, colors, and more that cause GI problems. Start feeding your child whole organic foods, all natural, and everything will be great.

None GMO Foods – Studies have shown that GMO foods cause inflammation of the GI tract… and they are full of herbicides and pesticides. Remove all GMO foods from a child’s diet and they will thrive.

Probiotic Bacteria – Lots of kids end up getting antibiotics and that kills off their good bacteria in the gut, this can lead to GI upset. Give them probiotic bacteria, yogurt, and other naturally fermented foods that will replenish their good bacteria and make them well. Plus having lots of good bacteria in their GI tract boosts their immune system so they don’t get sick.

Fiber – If your child is constipated and that is the cause of their tommy ache, then get them started on the Whole Foods Plant Based Diet – Lots of whole fresh organic veggies, fruits, and whole grains will help them become regular.

Milk – Lots of kids don’t get along with milk, in fact with all the hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, and more in milk, it’s probably is not a great idea to give kids milk in general. Lots of green leafy veggies will supply all the calcium they need. And boost their fiber consumption and thus boost up their  probiotic bacteria too. Kids like milk so give them some kind of nut milk instead… they will love it.

Play – Lots of kids stay inside and playing games on devices, thus they don’t get enough physical exercise to keep their GI tract moving along. That’s why yoga works so well to keep kids regular. Also just getting out in the fresh air and playing works too! Play, play, play – It also makes them happy!

Hydration – It’s important to keep your child hydrated because with diarrhea and vomiting they can lose lots of fluids that need replenishing right away. If your child’s diarrhea and vomiting do not going away soon… go see your doctor right away.

Other things – Other things that can cause stomach aches include worms, colic, and urinary tract infections… so if they don’t feel better soon take your child to the doctor.
