A study was done in a US elementary school on the East Coast.
They told the teachers they had a powerful new tool that would tell them exactly which kids would excel and do great.
The teachers scoffed at the idea… but knew they had lots of expertise in their area.
But instead of some special test they gave a standard IQ test to the kids.
Afterwards they threw away all the tests and randomly picked 5 kids who would excel.
These kids were not exceptional in any way… and the kids were never told anything.
By the end of the year all 5 kids were doing great… they were excelling in school… and doing wonderful in general.
The only thing that changed was the expectation of the teachers.
The teachers were the only ones who knew about the 5 exceptional kids.
Goes to show… when it comes to people… what we expect we get.
Treat everyone like God and amazing things… will happen!
