Fear the Main Cause of Disease


Under hypnosis while having a brain scan a suggestion is given to a person that he or she is going to be branded with a red hot poker. On their brain scan the same areas of the brain light up just as though they were being branded in real life, and they have a skin response with blisters that appear within seconds.

You’ve probably heard about the “Placebo Effect” where a patient is given a sugar pill and gets better just as though they received the medication. This works so well that it’s almost 90% effective in many cases… very powerful!

The reverse is also true… the “Nocebo Effect” in which a negative outcome is predicted and it does happen.

Such things have been proven, such as telling people they are prone to having a heart attack. And the end result is they die 4 times more often of a heart attack compared to the average population. Even though they had no higher chance of dying of a heart attack than any one else. – Amazing!

And it’s been shown that if you think you are losing your memory, you more than likely will lose your memory… the “Nocebo Effect” is powerful.

In fact our family had a relative that came down with cancer, but he was already 80 years old and his daughter decided not to tell him he had cancer. It was amazing, he lived a long happy life for another 20 plus years… never knowing he had cancer. And the cancer never killed him… he died of a heart attack.

Stress is the biggest killer in the world, in fact my father died of a stress induced heart attack at the age of 57. It was his thinking that killed him… not anything else. We create stress by the way we think, thus we cause physical changes in our bodies that end up doing harm to us in powerful ways.

In fact I’ve worked with people with diabetes, and every time they get stressed their sugar goes up 200 points. – Again Amazing!

When we feel relaxed… we have an alkaline body chemistry that wards off disease and keeps us healthy. At the same time that relaxed, up beat positive thinking also keeps our brain from causing stress and thus changing our body chemistry. And it also keeps our immune system high and our hormones regulated in powerful ways.

Changes in attitude have been found to change our mood, thus changing our body chemistry and hormones to allow disease to take over.

Candice Pert, a doctor working in the field of psychoneuroimmunology has found antibodies in both the body and the brain. And because of that she believes they are not separate, the mind and a body one super organ called the mind/body.

Perhaps you’ve watched the movie “What the Bleep” and you noticed that when people had specific emotions going on, they had changes happen in their body that corresponded to the chemicals being poured out into the body. Making changes in our mood… thus changing our body… allowing diseases to take hold.

There have been many cases where clergy have given last rites to people in the hospital and later found out it was the wrong person. Then all of a sudden that wrong person dies the next day… even though they were in the hospital for a routine check up.

Bruce Lipton in the book “Biology of Belief” shows that – What we believe actually has more power over us than our cells. Cells go about doing what they need to do… but when a belief changes, our cellular membranes change, and that changes our cells in powerful and dramatic ways. It’s all about mind… mind is everything when it comes to disease.

Fear is the driving force behind almost all disease. Perhaps you’re watching a movie about someone dying of cancer, and then you start to thinking unconsciously that you might die of cancer, or you visit someone in the hospital and later develop similar symptoms, that unconscious stress starts working on us and creating disease.

And with all the over the counter medications and prescription drugs that are being pushed on TV these days… no wonder we are being programmed in ways that cause disease. And new diseases like restless leg syndrome are being programming into our unconscious mind all the time.

What we perceive everyday, everything we take in, what we read, what we watch, everything affects us in unconscious ways that change our cellular antibodies… and our long term health.

If we have stress our immune system is over whelmed, and taxed to the max, and that creates disease. Studies show that when people are under lots of pressure their immune systems are depleted and even their thymus, adrenal glands, and other glands that regulate immunity become depleted and small. They go into what some call “immunity overload” and thus disease takes over.

That’s why you hear of people dying of cancer within days of being told they have cancer… but on autopsy they have very little cancer in their body or all of a sudden the cancer takes over in 2 or 3 days.

There are even people who fall down and hurt themselves, and go to the hospital and they are told they have Parkinson’s disease, and all of a sudden they are no longer able to walk. But upon being check out by another doctor and given a clean bill of health… all of a sudden like a miracle they can walk.

We must have a state of balance within the mind/body, a state of peace, rest, and without the fight or flight response taking over (stress). In fact many people these days have this fight or flight response going on all the time… and they die at a young age. I am seeing more and more people with lots of fear… not good, we need to relax and destress!

Meditation, prayer, thinking positive thoughts, having positive upbeat friends, laughing as much as possible, have community and family you can count on, all of these things are important for a disease free life… and science is proving this all the time.

So if you ask me what the cause of disease is, I would say “FEAR”.

Relax, let go, sing, have some down time, laugh, lay down on the grass and watch the clouds go by, give love to others, get out and live life, and do something you love everyday…

and all of this means love life!
