Everyone knows we live in toxic world and we have toxins in our bodies… and we need to take herbs and supplements to detox our physical being.
But what about our mind?
In this day and age our mind is overwhelmed with so much knowledge, noise, and distraction that it’s hard to find inner peace, to relax and get rid of stress and anxiety… and our ability to use our intuition becomes curtained.
And with so many intrusions such as television, video games, smart phones, apps, and on and on… we have very little time to detox our mind.
The body follows our mind— and there are so many great studies showing the process of the placebo effect, showing that the mind is amazingly powerful and can heal just about anything.
But we need to have the mind detoxed of all the clutter of modern society to take advantage of this great healing ability.
Also we have powerful emotional intrusions all the time… these intrusions want us to react in emotional ways to buy this product, or go to this store, eat this food, or do something else.
So the mind is constantly in a state of chatter… never at rest… even while sleeping.
Here are 3 great ways to detox the mind, that have been proven to work in thousands of scientific studies.
Vipassana Meditation – Vipassana Meditation is one of the best ways to detox the mind. Vipassana meditation comes from the Buddhist tradition of concentrating on our breath and allowing thoughts to come up and letting thoughts go and going back to concentrating on our breathing. Also concentrating on sensations that arise in the body, and then following those sensations and noticing that sooner or later those sensations disappear.
Doing Vipassana meditation at least 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes around 5PM can make all the difference in the world to detox the mind. Peace starts to filter in, we are less likely to react impulsively, we are more compassionate, and we are mindful of all feelings that arise in the body. Our intuition starts to bring great incites to us and we become more creative. And we have the ability to get along with everyone around us.
Vipassana meditation has nothing to do with religion, vipassana is a way to work with the world and the mind and to find peace… vipassana helps those who are of any religious or spiritual persuasion.
Here is the Vipassana Meditation website – http://www.dhamma.org so you can find a vipassana meditation retreat near you.
Here is a great documentary about taking Vipassana meditation into a prison in India and having amazing changes happen to the inmates in the program. This documentary is powerful… I highly recommend it.
Also here is another great video about taking vipassana meditation into a prison in the deep south of the US with amazing changes that happen for the inmates, this documentary will change your life.
I also highly recommend doing a 10 day vipassana retreat, it’s not easy but it will break free everything that is holding you back in life… and allow your mind to be free like it has never been before.
You are sitting for 10 days doing meditation from 6 to 10 hours a day. The retreat is totally silent and people from the inside out forever in positive ways. It takes about 4 days until all of a sudden people have an amazing breakthrough… amazing!
These mediation retreats are FREE because they are put on by people who have taken the course in the past… and volunteer their time and effort. The food is FREE, the lodging is FREE… all you have to do is show up and life will change.
About 5 days into this retreat you will have a life changing awakening – it will happen!
Anapana Meditation – For children there is another vipassana meditation that will bring about great peace, the ability to think clearly, the ability to sit quietly, to be mindful, and have great compassion.
Similar to Vipassana meditation these anapana workshops and regular programs of meditation for children are short and help children and teens over long periods of time to develop a calm inner peace and compassionate mindset. Check out their website all about all the programs for children’s and teens.
and here is a nice video about the Anapana process for children and teens.
TM – Transcendental meditation is a amazing process for detoxing the mind. Learning the process from a TM instructor takes 4 days and will create a powerful impact on the way a person thinks, their emotions, and the way they deal with the world around them.
Sitting down and doing 20 minutes of TM in the morning and 20 minutes of TM at about 5PM does wonders to clear the mind of chatter and detox the mind.
TM has been around for a long time and has many great benefits.
In fact here is a wonderful video about TM helping a soldier who came back from Iraq and wanted to commit suicide. – Powerful.
Here is another video about TM and how it helps a young man with ADHD.
And TM meditation has nothing to do with religion, it is a process to work with the mind to find peace, and TM helps those who are of any religious or spiritual persuasion.
