The word sacrifice is pondered and talked about by many in biblical terms,
in theological terms, and by the learned.
What is the reality of sacrifice… some feel it’s giving.
But giving something that we have in abundance is not a burden or a sacrifice.
But for the Buddha to have a beggar give his last bit of bread….
Buddha knew that was a great sacrifice…
Even though a rich man brought the Buddha many great gifts.
So the Buddha extolled virtue upon the beggar for his last crust of bread…
as the greatest gift and greatest sacrifice.
Thus to give up something with great emotion and love in our hearts…
Or to give of our heart felt love with great fervor… that is true sacrifice.
