Many people suffer from these two very common skin problems and there are a number of great herbs that will help… here are just a few.
Neem Oil – Neem oil is fantastic for eczema and psoriasis because it contains nimbidin which is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent… helping with redness, swelling, and a good antiseptic agent too. Neem oil also helps with painful skin as great analgesic.
Neem oil is a powerful antioxidant that helps to fight free radicals and thus slows the aging process and wrinkles. It brings back youthful skin and elasticity. It also contains lots of great vitamins and fatty acids that help your skin stay young. Also contains Omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids that are great for the skin.
Chickweed – Chickweed because of it’s anti-inflammatory abilities works well for common rashes and skin irritations, and it can also help with acne. But it is most often used for rashes, eczema, burns, dermatitis, psoriasis, and other irritations. Also works well for chickenpox and insect bites where you have a constant itch, and can be added to ointment and salves to create a healing balm, or used as a soothing wash… and it can help dogs with skin irritations.
Chamomile – Chamomile is a great antiseptic agent for acne, allergies, burns, psoriasis, stings, bruises, diaper rash, chickenpox, bites, eczema, swelling, and other skin problems and irritations. And studies show that Chamomile can speed up the healing of skin wounds. And a new study shows that Chamomile is just as effective as 1% hydrocortisone. Chamomile is also a good anti-inflammatory agent that can soothe irritated skin.
Argan Oil – Argan Oil is an oil that works great to boost the immune system and it’s also anti-inflammatory in action and also antibacterial. Argan Oil is great for the skin helping to heal eczema, psoriasis, acne, and other skin and nail problems. Argan Oil is also used in cosmetics and studies show it does help prevent wrinkling of the skin and can be used as a beauty treatment for the hair. Argon oil increase circulation and Argon Oil has lots of Vitamin E… which is great for the skin. Studies show that of all the oils on the market Argon was the best at boosting the immune system. By the way… Argon Oil comes from the nut of a fruit tree that grows in Morocco.
Nettle – Nettle is amazing for rashes, eczema, acne, psoriasis, bites, burns, and other irritations when used topically. If you suffer from swollen painful mucus membranes then Nettle will do the trick. Nettle was studied in comparison with NSAID none steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs… and found that nettle did just as well as all the prescription drugs without the side effects.
Copaiba Oil – Copaiba Oil comes from a the resin of the Copaibia Tree found in Bolivia, Brazil, Peru, Guyana, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, and other areas of South America and Amazon… and has many great health benefits and has been used for over 400 years.
Copaiba Oil is one of the best anti-inflammatory agents for sore muscles, aches, pains, and for insect bites, and even psoriasis, eczema, herpes, nail infections, rashes, ringworm, athlete’s foot, boils, and other skin conditions.
Copaibia Oil (pronounced “Ko-pah-ee-bah”) contains up to 60% beta-caryophyllene which is has been approved by the FDA for use for pain and inflammation, it also contains gamma elemine and alpha humulene that work well for getting rid of irritation… with more pain killing power than ibuprofen, cortisone, and other pain relievers.
Some of these compounds are also found in basil, black pepper, rosemary, helichrysum, oregano, and cloves oils… but a much lower percentage of beta-caryophyllene than Copaibia Oil.
Aloe Vera – The good old standby Aloe Vera is a great way to treat eczema and psoriasis because it’s soothing, healing, and helping to relieve itching, redness, and swelling. It also works great to sooth way burns and help heal superficial skin scrapes and rashes. Aloe Vera has been used for over 2,000 years with great success.
Ximenia Seed Oil – Ximenia Seed Oil soothes away dry cracked skin, and makes skin supple and sooth. Ximenia oil is a good anti-inflammatory agent, promoting skin circulation thus healing away rashes and irritations… and promotes beautiful looking hair. Many people feel that Ximenia oil has given them a new lease on life when it comes to treating eczema and other skin problems.
Calendula – Calendula in an ointment or cream works well for skin problems because it’s anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and also a great astringent agent… helping to speed along healing of eczema and psoriasis.
Prickly Pear Seed Oil – This oil Works well for eczema and psoriasis. Prickly Pear Seed Oil comes from the fruits of the Prickly Pear Cactus. The oil has many great health benefits… including being 85% unsaturated fats, 60% or more linoleic acid (Omega 6 oils), and lots of other essential nutrients.
Full of lots of great antioxidants, and lots of great tocopheraols or Vitamin E, which is great for the skin, making the skin soft, pliable, and moisturizing away dry skin, and helping to sooth away wrinkles by tightening the skin.Prickly Pear Oil heals dark circles under the eyes… and also brings back health to fingernails… and makes your complexion beautiful.
And Prickly Pear Oil contains more nutrients than Argan Oil. Prickly Pear Seed Oil is also great for protecting the eyes and breasts too… helping to repair cell membranes.
Prickly Pear Seed Oil contains polysaccharides, which work to boost your immune system, and the oil is a great great anti-inflammatory agent too.
Licorice Root – Licorice Root is a great anti-inflammatory agent helping to sooth eczema and psoriasis and pain. Because Licorice Root is antibacterial and antiviral… it also works well for herpes, cold sores, and other skin diseases. And licorice root combats infections, and licorice root stimulates cellular growth and there have been many studies on the healing abilities of and Licorice Root. Licorice root also helps with stress… and many types of skin problems are related to excess stress.
Oats – Taking a bath in Oatmeal has been a long standing practice to heal away eczema and psoriasis. Oats are soothing, relaxing, and helps with inflammation, and have been used for centuries for skin inflammation. You can buy oatmeal soap, oatmeal soaking compounds for skin irritations. Or you can make your own mixture of honey and oats as a paste and used that for soothing away skin irritation.
Turmeric – Turmeric grows in the tropics and has been used in India (Found in Curry Powder) for over 2000 years. Turmeric is one of the best anti-inflammatory herbs you can buy, in fact it works just about as well as anti-inflammatory prescription drugs… and it also helps with pain.
We have lots of little nicks, cuts, rashes, eczema, and psoriasis… and the over the counter antibiotic creams are great, but turmeric is wonderful for healing just about everything. In India turmeric pastes have been used for hundreds of years for healing skin irritations.
