“How to Move from Medications to Herbs”

“Lots of people are moving from medications with all their side effects to herbs and supplements that have little or no side effects… but how do we do this?”

Blood Test Finger

Take for instance being a diabetic, how does one make the change to herbs instead of taking medications?

First of all there lots of different herbs that will lower blood sugar and they all need to be tried to find the right one or a combination of 2 or 3 that will do the job.

Then there’s the need check blood sugar every hour like diabetics are supposed to do. If blood sugar goes up or stays the same while on one particular herb… then that herb is not the right herb.

After trial and error soon the right herb is found and blood sugar moves into the 70 to 110 range.

At the same time medications for lowering blood sugar will have to be adjusted, lowering medication slowing and adding more and more herb until a person is totally off the medications… and free of all those terrible side effects.

Doctors do the same thing. There are medications that lower blood sugar, and some of them work for some people, and some don’t work for some people, and doctors have to do the very same thing… see which medication works for any particular person.

It takes patience and willpower to be free of all medications… thus starting a new life feeling great. This same process works for just about any herbal remedy that’s around.

Perhaps someone wants to lower their cholesterol by taking Red Yeast Rice. The very same process would be used, but this should be coordinated with a doctor because lab tests for cholesterol must be run.

Some doctors are very interested in getting people off of drugs and then there are those who are not interested at all. Find a doctor of alternative medicine that’s also a medical doctor or perhaps a chiropractor, a DO, or some other type of doctor who’s willing to work with you.

Also a person can work with an alternative health person in combination with their regular doctor. The alternative health care provider will recommend a certain type of herb or combination of herbs and then your doctor will check the results of the change.

Also there are over the counter ways of checking cholesterol and triglycerides that are simple lab tests that require just a drop or two of blood and read out total cholesterol level, trigs, LDL cholesterol, and HDL cholesterol and more. And these quick and simple tests are usually pretty inexpensive (Usually under $20) and can be found at good quality pharmacies and even on-line.

There are even mail in test kits that give you a full readout of your cholesterol levels, trigs, HDL, and LDL cholesterol… and these also can be found on-line. Google “Home Test Kits for Cholesterol” and lots of places on-line will come up.

There are even Uric acid tests kits that can be used at home for those who have gout. And there are A1C tests that diabetics can use… to see if they’ve had large spikes in their blood sugar over long periods of time.

And of course buying a good blood pressure monitor is important if lowering blood pressure is what you want to do. Check your blood pressure and then take herbs and an hour later rechecking your blood pressure until the right combination of herbs is found.

And after you have your challenge under control it’s important to check with your doctor and double check the lab results.

So if a person really wants to make a change to herbs there are many ways to make it happen.

But remember lets stop treating symptoms and start getting at the cause of these diseases. Changing eating habits and lifestyle changes can cure all of this, so you don’t even have to take anything… won’t that be great!

Remember it’s important to work together with your doctor if at all possible… to find the exact way to make life better.
