“Ginger beer is a great tasting treat for the holidays, and it’s not alcoholic… and it also has lots of health benefits.”
Ingredients:
1 – Pound of Organic Fresh Ginger Root – Chopped into 1/4 inch slices.
2 – Liters of filtered water to begin with.
(Experiment as to how strong a ginger taste you enjoy… and change the recipe accordingly.)
1 1/2 – Liters of filtered water to add later.
3/4 – Cup of Organic Honey.
1 – Teaspoon of baking yeast.
(Optional) – Some people add lemon to their ginger beer but that’s up to you… depends on your taste buds.
(Optional) – Also some people add a dash of hot chili pepper for a lively boost.
Take 1 pound of organic ginger and slice it as thin as possible and place in a large stock pot with 2 liters of filtered water.
Boil until 3/4 of the water is boiled away… and there is a nice brown ginger stock at the bottom of the pot.
Remove from the heat and filter with a strainer.
Then add additional 1 1/2 liters of water and honey and mix well and let cool, and pour into a large container with a loose fitting lid… perhaps a water bottle.
Place in the frig over night until nice and cold… and then add the yeast and mix well. Then put the bottle back into the frig with the loose fitting lid for 48 hours… allowing the yeast to work and create the great tasting beer.
Drink your ginger beer very cold and it’s wonderful!
Ginger beer is better than over the counter drugs for nausea and motion sickness and also works great for morning sickness for mothers who are pregnant.
Ginger beer also contains lots of powerful antioxidants that help to prevent and repair DNA damage… plus it also help to prevent cardiovascular disease, strokes, and cancer.
Ginger beer is also a good anti-inflammatory which is great for arthritis and to prevent inflammation in the body which is the first step towards creating disease.
