“3 Powerful Herbs for Colds”

“The cold season is upon us with runny noses, hacking coughs, aches and pains, but here are 3 herbs that will lessen the severity of a cold… and make a cold pass quickly.”

Garlic, Ginger, Turmeric

These 3 herbs are essential for making the symptoms of a cold negligible and being able to get on with life as usual… feeling good again.

Organic Garlic – Garlic contains allicin which in double blind studies has been shown to cut your probability of coming down with a cold or flu by 50%. But allicin must be taken in it’s natural form as fresh garlic.

Garlic has lots of B Vitamins, A and C Vitamins and zinc to boost your immune system and lots of other trace minerals such as iron and copper for anemia, selenium for prostate health, calcium and phosphorus for strong bones, and tryptophan for helping you to get a good nights rest.

Garlic is a good antibacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral agent making it great for preventing and curing all kinds of disease processes. One of the best all around preventatives for disease on the planet. And Garlic Tea is great… and it makes a wonderful tea for healing colds.

Mashing cloves of Garlic and adding it to water and gargling with it will sooth away a sore throat.

Dose – For a cold take one clove of organic garlic AM and PM… cut the clove into small pieces and swallow with water. Or take one close of organic garlic and mash it and spread it on gluten free toast. Garlic must be eaten raw to reap the most benefit.

Organic Ginger – Ginger is powerful antimicrobial agent, helps with inflammation, opens up the lungs and boosts our immune system.

Ginger tea is great for colds and flues and works wonders by getting a person back on their feet. Boiling ginger in an open pot and breathing the vapors helps to open up airways by relaxing the smooth muscles that constrict bronchi. Plus it helps with congestion so we can breathe easy, and it helps with sinus inflammation and congestion.

Ginger also helps with the aches and pains of a colds, making is possible to get around and not be suffering all the time. Plus ginger has been shown to work as well as over the counter drugs for headaches and migraines.

Plus ginger helps with nausea… it’s one of the best nausea medications around.

Dose – Make ginger tea with fresh organic ginger. Take 4 to 8, 1/4 inch slices of ginger and add 16 oz of hot water and let steep for 10 minutes. Drink two cups AM and PM.

Organic Turmeric – Turmeric is one of the best anti-inflammatory herbs you can buy, in fact it works just about as well as anti-inflammatory prescription drugs… and it also helps with pain.

Turmeric also boost immunity thus helping to shorten the normal 7 to 10 day progression of a cold. Turmeric also helps with coughs and works wonders as a good antibacterial and anti-viral agent.

Turmeric helps with the inflammation associated with colds. Also helps with the pain that comes with inflammation and helps with headaches, and wards off lung infections thus preventing complications associated with long colds.

Plus turmeric helps with depression and boosts our mood, which is great when we feel down with a cold.

Dose – Take 4 to 6 — 600 mg capsules AM and PM. You can find turmeric at any drugstore or health food store or on-line.

Also drink lots of water, that’s important, and rest… rest is needed to recover even when we feel good. Plus eat nutritious food, junk food will only hinder the recovery process.
