Healthy Diet – Become a Vegan – We all know the virtues of lowering saturated fats in our diet, and lowering animal protein which causes inflammation thus leading to cardiovascular disease, strokes, and cancer. Plus processed food, lots of sugar, and fats which cause diabetes which is out of control in the US… and all of this can be avoided with plant based diets. Even in the US Virgin Islands they have radio commercials talking about the healing abilities of becoming a vegan. Plant based diets are full of protein and even more protein than some people on regular diets. With a good diet plan a vegan way of eating surpasses regular diets in so many ways. Walk 5 Miles a Day – Walking 5 miles a day like we used to before cars will keep a person in great shape. Being it going to the mall and walking indoors where it’s nice and cool or walking outside in Mother Nature… walking 5 miles a day will do the body good. Walking 5 miles a day cuts the risk of having a heart attack in half.
Walking 5 miles a day cuts our risks of colon cancer, lowers bad cholesterol (LDL) and increases good cholesterol (HDL). Studies show that walking 5 miles a day increases libido and sexual enjoyment, and helps those suffering from fibromyalgia. Walking improves our memory according research, studies show that we can get off medications by walking 5 miles a day. Walking 5 miles a day helps us survive and prevent cancer, lowers the chances coming down with diabetes, lowers blood sugar, improves sleep, helps with weight loss, and walking 5 miles a day can lower blood pressure and so much more.
*PS – I walk 5 miles in 50 to 60 minutes every day, it does a body good!
Learn to Meditate – Meditation Boosts Immunity – A study was done with people who were HIV positive and meditation. There were two groups, one doing meditation and a control group. Those doing meditation had a reduction in virus proliferation, and the people not meditating did not… thus meditation did create a immune response.
Another study at the University of Wisconsin showed that those who participated in a 8 week mindfulness meditation class… had great increases in the amount of antibodies in their blood, thus boosting of their immune system.
A study was done at the University of California with seniors between 55 and 85 years old. They were all given a weekly 2 hour meditation class, and a 30 minute daily meditation exercise to do at home. At the end of 6 weeks it was found that they had a marked decrease in inflammation factors because of changes in their immune system. And as a great side effect their feelings of loneliness decreased. – Powerful!
Another study at Carnegie Mellon University showed that people doing meditation had their white blood cells decrease very slowly compared to people who were not meditating. Plus they had a large increase in immune cells, both showing a boost in their immune system.
A study at the University of Oslo with people taking a week long yoga and meditation class showed a marked increase in 111 good genes that supported the immune system. While walking only increased 38 genes, showing that yoga and especially meditation supports the immune system.
Studies show that meditation releases lots of healing hormones into the body… such as endorphins, GABA, serotonin, DHEA, and melatonin, all of which are important for boosting the immune system.
So if you seem to get sick often, have cancer, or any other disease and want to boost your immune system then start meditating… it will do the mind/body good!
Just focusing on breathing for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening can change everything.
Eat Organic – Give Up GMO Foods (Genetically Modified Foods) – GMO Foods are toxic and create negative DNA changes in our body. Time to give up GMO Foods and become healthy by eating organic food.
Even during approved studies male rats feed GMO foods gained 11% in body fat and triglycerides went up 40% and had pathology of the liver and the kidneys.
And studies show that GMO foods contain pesticide residues that can cause problems later in life. It’s a question of chronic toxicity… not short term toxicity that was approved by the FDA. Some of these pesticide residues have been shown to disrupt hormonal balance and create chronic problems at levels 1000 times less than found GMO crops.
Results of multiple studies have shown that long term intake of these foods could result in reproductive, pancreas, kidney, and liver disease. Also DNA from GMO foods don’t always break down in the gut, thus these crops may create antibiotic resistance to every antibiotic that we have on the planet… thus creating super bugs that could rage out of control.
Even in the rats studied with GMO foods more than 1/3rd had necrotic lesions of their gut lining causing bleeding… thus causing a huge health risk to elderly people and the public in general. 1/6th of the animals used in studies with GMO tomatoes died… and these deaths were never studied at all.
Mice feed GMO potatoes had the cells of their gut disrupted, mitochondrial damage (cellular damage) and a significant increase in crypt paneth cells which are cells that try to protect the lining of the gut. In other studies animals given GMO potatoes had increased thickening of the lining of the stomach.
Like DDT and Alar which decades later became powerful health risks… GMO foods too stand as a powerful health risk if not studied deeply over long periods of time.
Rabbits given GMO soy had heart and kidney enzyme problems, and other studies show markers for long term chronic disease problems later in life. Yet there are no requirements for long term studies of GMO products.
Rats feed GMO corn were very slow growing, became fat, and had damage to their kidneys, liver, and blood chemistries were not normal, and they had high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and more… and both young mice and old mice all had immune system dysfunctions.
Also sheep feed GMO foods for 3 generations had cellular damage of their livers and pancreas. Rats feed GMO rice starting drinking lots of water, much more than normal and at the same time had changes in immune response, changes in their blood chemistries, and the bacteria in their gut were different with an over growth of coliform bacteria… plus all these rats had large adrenal glands, uterus, and testicles… and none of this happened with Non-GMO rice.
Also when studies where conducted looking for traces of GMO foods in honey, almost all of the containers contained traces of pollen from GMO crops. And mice feed GMO peas had powerful allergic reactions to egg white protein… and the control groups had no reactions at all.
Many scientists say the genetic engineering foods is not precise… that we cannot predicted what the long term health risks of GMO foods will be.
Also there are powerful effects on the land, soil, and the environment. Plus biodiversity is important, when one genetic strain of a particular food has a problem… biodiversity will sustain our planet.
If organic food is purchase directly from farmers cutting out the middle man they are very inexpensive and many times even less expensive than GMO food.
These 4 changes will improve health dramatically.
