Heal with Food – It’s very important to always use food first to heal all ills in our mind and body. Many times food which is our first line of defense is not even thought of as something for healing. But as Hippocrates and many others have talked about we are to you use food to heal our bodies. Simple foods like organic celery which helps with inflammation, organic cucumbers which are very alkalizing and help with pain, organic kale which is full of nutrients which gives us vitality. If we were to just use food for healing alone 99% of all our ills in this world would disappear. Food is powerful and contains many amazing compounds that work in synergy to bring about healing.
Especially right now in the world, food could heal just about every major ill we have. And that also means reducing the amount of food that we consume everyday, and finding our own balanced way of eating. Balance is important, think about the acid/base system of we have going on in our bodies. As we grow older our buffering system for acidic foods becomes weaker. And that means we have to eat more alkaline foods in order to balance acidic foods that we consume. And that means eating more organic green leafy veggies, which seems to be the opposite of fast food… but things are changing.
And the less food we eat the longer we live, this has been proven with long term studies with lab animals showing that eating less promotes longevity… and a long healthy life. And eating less also means healing metabolic syndrome which is prevalent in the world right now… and could be completely eliminated if we ate less. When it comes to food we need to give our bodies the cleanest, most natural, healing, organic food we can. GMO foods, foods laden with pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, and toxins cause disease, and this has been proven. These foods even cause genetic changes that are passed down to our children. This is the challenge we have right now in the world… and we shall overcome.
Healing with Herbs and Supplements – Herbs and supplements are a great adjunct to health. First of all it’s important not to consume anything other then healing foods as our first line of defense. But if we have a disease process going on then herbs and supplements are very important. But in my mind, I think herbs and supplements this way “Don’t fix it, if it’s not broken”. Herbs and supplements are there to help us heal when we have diseases going on… and should only be taken for 7 to 10 days on the average.
When to comes to Turmeric, Ginger, and Garlic and many others food, these are healing foods are also healing herbs. And healing foods can be taken for a long periods of time. But like anything else too much of even a good thing can cause problems. We can even drink too much water and cause death. It’s important to keep everything in balance… this is essential. Take only the smallest amount of herbs and supplements necessary to bring about healing. That last line is very important “Take only the smallest amount of herbs and supplements necessary to bring about healing”.
Taking too much of anything is not good, and taking something just because we want to try it… is not good. It’s different if we are not feeling well and take something in order to become healthy. But to take something without a reason is not a good idea. Herbs are amazingly powerful and can heal in amazing ways. So we must have reverence for these wonderful herbs and supplements. There are some people who find a healing herb or supplement and say this is good, but what if I take this, and that, and something else, and they end up with lots of different herbs and supplements… together they may or may not heal the original challenge. It’s important to take the least amount of different types of herbs and supplements necessary for our healing.
Everything we take impacts our liver. Everything has to be filtered through our liver in order to create health. And it’s important to not take anything that’s not needed in order to protect our liver… and that also includes prescribed medications which can be toxic to our liver. And yes the liver has a great capacity for healing itself, but toxins do buildup in our liver that need to be flushed out. Let’s be kind to our liver, our liver is our first line of defense, because our liver promotes the health and vitality of our immune system.
So use foods for healing, find balance when it comes to healing with food, consume food with balance in mind, and consume the amount of food needed for good health… and only use herbs and supplements that are necessary for healing.
