Right now we have a lot of claims about foods being “All Natural”, in fact all the fast food companies are moving towards “All Natural”.
But what does “All Natural” mean?
And what does “Organic” mean?
Here is a simple clarification… “Eat Organic”.
If a person Google’s “What Does All Natural Mean” – the following comes up:
“Natural: Food labeled “natural,” according to the USDA definition, does not contain artificial ingredients or preservatives and the ingredients are only minimally processed. However, they may contain antibiotics, growth hormones, and other similar chemicals.”
Natural foods have no added unnatural ingredients in the way of artificial food colors, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavors, chemical preservatives or any other chemical compounds. And they are processed very little thus making them slightly better than regular foods. But and I stress this point… they can also contain Genetically Modified Foods (GMO’s), can be sprayed with glycophytes herbicides and can contain chemical fertilizers. And when it comes to “All Natural Meats, Eggs, and Dairy Products” the animal can be given antibiotics that are causing problems in children and adults with antibiotic resistance to bacteria. And they can contain hormones that cause cancer, feminize our male children and lower sperm counts, and cause other devastating diseases.
Antibiotic resistant bacterial infections are becoming alarmingly common in this day and age. In the United States alone we’ve had many people die of diseases caused by antibiotic resistant bacteria. Right now people are being tested before going into the hospital to see if they carry antibiotic resistant bacteria. Modern medicine has very little in the way of good antibiotic treatments for these aggressive strains of bacteria. And they are largely caused by lots of antibiotics in our foods and the indiscriminate prescribing of antibiotics to patients. Low levels of antibiotics in our food play havoc with our immune system.
Our immune system is really our 4 or 5 lbs of probiotic bacteria that should be in our colon and small intestines. They boost up our immunity and keep us from coming down with disease and even control our mood. When we are eating a constant stream of antibiotics in our food our probiotic bacteria drop down to 1/5 of the amount that we should have or .8 lbs of probiotic bacteria growing in our gut. Thus we don’t have a strong immune system to fight off disease and thus we become constantly sick… and this can also lead to cancer and other tragic diseases.
Glycophyte herbicides have been associated with many diseases including liver disease and kidney disease both of which have been skyrocketing upward in the last few years. In fact kidney disease has increase 4 times in last few years mainly because of chemicals.
Chemical fertilizers are killing our soils! Our soils don’t contain trace minerals, and nutrients that we get from organic farmed soils. In fact way back in the 1950’s we knew that our soils were depleted of trace minerals such as zinc, selenium, manganese, magnesium, calcium, iron, copper… and other great nutrients that are needed for health. Thus all the grasses for grazing animals, fruits, and veggies that grow on these chemically fertilized soils are nutrient deficient. And that means nutrient deficient children and immune problems.
In fact chemical fertilizers kill most of the good bacteria and fungi in our soils that promote healthy thriving nutritive dense soils. And in general this ultimately leads to mental problems, heart disease, strokes, cancer, ADD, and even Alzheimer’s disease. And fruits and veggies grown on these soils lack a full complement of great polyphenols, antioxidants, and live enzymes that promote great health. Omega 3 oils are declining in our fruits and veggies raised on chemical fertilized soils.
And when it comes to GMO foods we don’t have a clue as to what they will do to us in the end. The biologist Bruce Lipton talks about the fact that our food turns into micro RNA which in turn creates DNA and in the long run controls life. We don’t have a clue as to the long term effects of GMO foods. We don’t have any long term studies with animals and people that span 5 to 10 years showing the outcomes of multi-generational studies and the genetic changes to offspring.
Are we willing to play genetic roulette?
Organic is just that – No chemicals at all, no hormones, raised on organically farmed soils so the foods contain nutrient dense trace minerals, antioxidants, polyphenols, omega 3 oils and much more in our fruits, veggies… and in our eggs, diary products, and meats. And in the long run organic farming is the only thing that will save this planet… we can’t keep polluting the world and expecting the planet to keep going strong.
By the way, where my mother lives near Sacramento, California there are so many chemical fertilizers in the water that people are not allowed to drink the water… that’s not good.
So in the end when it comes to “All Natural” or “Organic” in order to have a good immune system, and stay vital and healthy it’s very important to eat only organic food.
Forget about “All Natural”.
Don’t let those two little words create confusion…. Eat Organic!
