There are many syndromes and different names for adrenal fatigue including adrenal insufficiency and they are all slightly different, but they are also very similar. And they all need a multi-pronged approach to healing this dis-ease.
Maca Root – People with adrenal problems usually have all of their hormones not working efficiently. And because of that maca root can help balance their hormones and bring about an increased ability for their body to utilize hormones. Taking 2 to 4 – 500 mg capsules of maca root daily will help balance hormones. Take maca for 7 to 10 days and then take a week off and then take again.
Ashwagandha Root – This is a powerful adaptogen that helps to balance cortisol. It not only increases cortisol in some cases, but it also lowers cortisol in others depending upon what the body needs. And it also helps with stress, helps a person relax, and brings about a feeling of well being. Taking 4 to 6 – 400 mg capsules twice a day of ashwaganda root will help greatly. Take for 7 to 10 days and then take a week off and then take again.
Licorice Root – This powerful herb which is great for stress, and for helping to create balance in the body. Licorice root helps to maintain whatever amount of cortisol that is being produced by the body… to be more effective for longer periods of time. And it also gives a person increased vitality and energy. Licorice root should not be taken for more than 7 days at a time, and then have a 7 to 10 day break and then it can be taken again. Licorice root is not for long term use, but it can be of great help. Take 1 or 2 – 400 mg capsules daily.
Ginseng – Ginseng is another adaptogen that is great for balancing the body, helping with stress, clearing away mental fog, boosting vitality and energy levels, and balances hormones, and helps with inflammation. Ginseng can also increase blood pressure, so it should not be taken by those who have high blood pressure. Remember to take American Ginseng because it’s a bit milder than some of the other ginsengs. Take 1 – 500 mg capsule daily… take for 7 to 10 days and then take a week off and then take again.
Gotu Kola – This powerful adaptogen helps with stress, boosts up our immune system, improves our mood, heals our liver, and brings about an increase of energy and stamina. Take 1 – 900 mg capsules daily in the morning, take for 7 to 10 days and then take a week off and then take again.
Cordyceps – Cordyceps is a mushroom that grows in the high mountains of Asian and it’s also a great adaptogen for balancing the body and for boosting our vitality. It also boosts our immune system, balances hormones, helps with inflammation and stress, and helps to balance blood sugar levels. Take 1 or 2 capsules of cordyceps daily. Take for 7 to 10 days and then take a week off and then take again.
Goji Berries – Goji Berries are powerful for healing the body, slowing the aging process, get rid of free radicals, and they are full of antioxidants for boosting our immune system. And goji berries provide lots of energy and vitality… and improves our mood. Eat 30 to 40 dried goji berries daily in the morning with breakfast.
Listen to Your Body – Remember only take the least amount of herbs needed, and take herbs for 7 to 10 days and then take a break. And perhaps just one herb is all that’s needed… listen to your body.
B-Complex – B Vitamins are vitally important for balancing hormones, increasing energy levels, and for boosting vitality. They also help to improve our mood and make us feel joyful again. And Vitamin C also helps with adrenal fatigue. Taking 2 B-Complex capsules daily which contain vitamin C is important.
Chlorella – Chlorella contains every vitamin, mineral, tracer mineral, and every essential and none essential protein that we need. Chlorella is essential for healing adrenal challenges, take 3,000 mgs of chlorella daily.
Probiotics – Probiotics are important for every aspect of our life. We should have 4 pounds of good probiotic bacteria on our gut. But most of us only have 1/2 pound of good probiotic bacteria. These good bacteria boost up our immune system, help balance hormones, improve our mood, and help to generate vitality and energy.
And when have lots of bad bacteria in our gut they create toxins that cause inflammation, redness, swelling, tenderness, and pain in every part of our body or in just specific areas. And these bad bacteria thrive on sugar and processed foods which are important to eliminate from our diet. Eating 2 tablespoons of natural sauerkraut or Kimchi weekly will boost up the amount of probiotics we have in our gut. Plus taking 4 capsules of any probiotic supplement – 4 times a day for the first month is important. And then 4 capsules weekly will make all the difference in the world when it comes to adrenal fatigue.

Meditation – Meditation very important for healing our adrenal fatigue. Meditation is like placing a cooling cloth across the forehead and healing the entire body. And many people who have adrenal challenges have a hard time slowing down and learning. But meditation is very important for heal our adrenals, we now know that when we meditate good genes are turned on, and bad genes are turned off… this is science.
Thus meditation has been a true God send for people with adrenal challenges. Take mediation classes from someone in the area, or take a FREE 10 Day Vipassana Mediation Retreat – even the food and lodging is totally free. Meditation will make all the difference in the world… but it takes time. Meditating daily for 30 minutes first thing in the morning… and 30 minutes around 5 or 6 PM is absolutely important.
Balancing Life – Without balancing our life stress takes a toll on our adrenals. Going to bed late, getting up late, not eating right, becoming emotional, not exercising, smoking, drinking, drinking too much caffeine, taking lots of over the counter and prescription drugs, working too much, being bored, not being happy, always being alone, not taking care of our body, mind, and spirit… all of it adds up to stress on our adrenals. And all that stress can create adrenal disease… so life style changes are vitally important for healing adrenal fatigue.
