Lots of women have painful periods with back pain, abdominal pain and cramps, leg pain, swelling, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches and many more symptoms. But all of these symptoms can be healed naturally with a few natural organic herbs and diet changes.
Organic Chaste Tree Berry or Vitex – Chaste Tree Berry regulates the hormones in the body and helps to increase progesterone production which helps to regulate menstrual cycles. Chaste Tree Berry can also help with excessive bleeding, frequent periods, infertility, irregular periods, PMS, and it can also help regulate luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone by working with the pituitary gland. Chaste Tree Berry is well known for stabilizing large mood swings and headaches while going through PMS or menopause. A study was done in Germany showing that Chaste Tree Berry was 93% effective in helping with PMS symptoms… and 1/3rd had all their symptoms disappear. Chaste Tree Berry has been used extensively with great success for fibrocystic breast disease. Chaste Tree Berry helps to nourish and stimulate the endocrine system in general and create good health. Chaste Tree Berry works on the pituitary gland to balance hormones and also helps with stress and thus it’s a very valuable herb to have on hand at all times. Chaste Tree Berry is great for hot flashes and all the side effects of menopause and works extremely well, but does take time to take effect… and also helps with vaginal dryness too. If you are prone to uterine cysts then Chaste Tree Berry may be just what you need to stop the cycle and heal. Chaste Tree Berry is well known as a great bitter agent that helps with bloating and gas associated with hormonal problems. And because Chaste Tree Berry is a great diuretic and it helps to get rid of retained water. In Traditional Chinese Medicine a similar herb called Man Jin Zi from the same plant family… is used with great success for all of the above problems. The does for Chaste tree berry or sometimes called Vitex is 200 to 600 mgs once a day, and up to three times a day and most people take Chaste Tree Berry for up to a year, and it takes a while for Chaste Tree Berry to take effect usually about 3 or 4 months.
Organic Cramp Bark – Cramp Bark powder is great for tight cramped muscles, spasms, and abdominal cramps in general. Artificial colors, sweeteners, and all the toxins we have around can cause spasms… and Cramp Bark does a great job of getting rid of those spasms. And Cramp Bark is very safe and works well. Cramp Bark relaxes smooth muscle and also striated muscle tissue. Smooth muscles is located in our GI tract, in our arteries, bronchi, uterus, and other involuntary process of the body. While striated muscle are the powerful muscles we use everyday to walk, run, and get around in the world. Thus cramp bark has the ability to relax and end spasms of both types of muscle tissue. Thus making it great for getting rid of that nagging pain that will not go away. Dose – The recommended dose for this purpose is about 400 mgs of the powder or 1 Cramp Bark 400 mg capsule once or twice a day.
Organic Chinese Wild Yam – Chinese Wild Yam can help with the symptoms of menopause, dysmenorrhea, and also works well for calming the GI tract, ending cramps, soothing way abdominal pain in cases of IBS, diverticulosis, and other GI challenges. Chinese Wild Yam or Cinnamon Vine Tuber can help with inflammation thus helping with muscle pain, arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions. The skin of the Chinese Wild Yam is full of natural anti-fungal compounds that work well for killing fungus. And other compounds found in the tuber are natural cancer inhibitors and also kill cancer cells. Cancer studies with mice show that when given tuber compounds their life span is greatly increased. Animals studies show a significant increase in function of the adrenal gland, thus helping with stress and other adrenal associated diseases. In Chinese Medicine these yams are well known for toning the lungs, kidneys, and spleen and thus help with asthma, urinary problems, diabetes, and female reproductive challenges. Dose – 1 or 2 grams twice a day in capsules, and up to 4 grams daily.
Organic Chamomile – Chamomile is also a good anti-inflammatory agent that can soothe the reproductive tract. It can create a healing balm for mucus membranes of the eyes, gums, intestines, and the reproductive tract. Commission E in Germany recommends Chamomile for stomach cramps, bloating, gas, nausea, IBS, skin swelling, and bacterial infections. Chamomile Tea and capsules can take the edge off emotions, and make anxiety disappear, and chamomile is great for calming and easing stress. Dose – 3 or 4 cups of chamomile tea a day works great or taking 1 or 2 – 250 mg capsules daily.
Organic Ginger – Ginger has been around for over 2,000 years and it’s great for muscle pain after exercise, inflammation in general, migraines, cancer, protects against acetaminophen liver damage, blood pressure, for colon inflammation, nausea, and so much more. And it also works well for painful periods and for bloating and inflammation in general and works wonders for nausea and vomiting. Take 3 or 4 cups of organic ginger tea daily or 1 – 250 mg capsules 4 times a day.
Other herbs – Here are some more herbs important for balancing hormones and healing dysmenorrhea including Maca Root, Pasque Flower, Red Raspberry Leaf, Red Clover, Black Cohosh, White Peony, Don Quai, Ladies Mantle, Calendula, Mother Wort, False Unicorn Root, Evening Prime Rose Oil and many more herbs.
Diet Change Recommendations – The following should be removed from the diet including: red meat, chicken, fish, seafood, eggs, cheese, milk, added oils, canned foods, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, sugar, artificial anything, chemicals of any kind. And limit alcohol, highly spiced food, and use very little salt, no fast food, no processed food, if in doubt don’t eat it, chemicals are not good for the body and especially the reproductive system. Also stay away from wheat, bread, barley, spelt, and rye – all of these are highly inflammatory which can cause reproductive health challenges. And all of the genetically modified foods are also highly inflammatory, they cause cancer, and more. Lots of studies show that GMO food are toxic and they can play havoc with our reproductive system. Please eat organic food – organic foods are not full of toxic compounds that are terrible for the body, and organic foods can naturally help balance the body and heal dysmenorrhea.
We all deserve to feel great, and with these few organic herbs and diet changes dysmenorrhea can be a thing of the past.
