Where are They Found – Red beets can be found on just about every continent in the world including North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and other areas of the world.

Powerful Antioxidants – Red beets contain Vulgaxanthin and Betanin which are powerful antioxidants that help prevent and heal DNA damage, and help to prevent cardiovascular disease, strokes, and even cancer.

Eat Them Raw if Possible – Red beets have lots of antioxidants but they are sensitive to heat. They lose most of their antioxidants during the cooking process so try to eat beets raw if possible or lightly steamed. All cooked food loses 100% of all live enzymes and up to 75% of all nutrients so eating raw food is important. Raw red beets grated in salads are wonderful.

Highly Anti-inflammatory – Red beets are highly anti-inflammatory and thus help with arthritis, joint pain, swelling, plus redness and tenderness. Beets contain cyclooxygenase enzymes which inhibits inflammation. Beets contain COX 1 and COX 2 inhibitors which help to prevent inflammation.

Lowers Cholesterol and Triglycerides – Beets have the ability to lower LDL or bad cholesterol and trigs too, thus helping to prevent cardiovascular disease and strokes.

Lowers Blood Pressure – Beets have been shown to lower blood pressure and thus help to prevent kidney disease because high blood pressure is the leading cause of kidney disease. Beets contain natural nitrates which help to relax blood vessels and thus help to increase blood flow throughout the body. Eating beets can lower blood pressure by as much as 5 points and beets can also help with erectile dysfunction by opening up blood vessels.

More Energy – Studies show that people who eat beets or drink beet juice have more stamina and can exercise 16% longer than most people.

Cancer – Red beets are very good at helping to prevent breast, testicular, colon, lung, stomach, prostate and other types of cancer. And eating lots of beets can be a tremendous help in the healing of cancer… because they help to get rid of inflammation and inflammation is the first step towards disease. And beets lower C reactive protein and tumor necrosis factor thus helping with cancer.

Turns Urine Red – Red beets will turn our urine red, especially those people lacking iron. This may mean that a person needs more iron in their diet and perhaps they should check in with their family doctor to find out more. And if a person’s urine is red after eating beets it also means they have low stomach acid which is good.

Full of Bioavailable Iron and Copper – Beets are a good source of bioavailable iron and copper which are important for preventing anemia.

A Long Life Food – In Russia there is a group of people who eat lots of beets and live to be over 100 years old. They usually eat beets as borscht soup and they are protected against many diseases.

Good Eye Health – Red beets contain lots of lutein and zeaxanthin and one cup of beets contains over 275 micrograms of lutein. Both of these powerful antioxidants help to prevent macular degeneration.

Prevents Diabetes – Because beets contain lots of great anti-inflammatory agents they can help to prevent diabetes. And they also help lower homocysteine levels which are important for preventing disease in general including diabetes. And beets contain very little fat, and fat blocks the ability of insulin to reach our cells and thus prevent the build-up of glucose in our system… thus beets help to prevent diabetes.

Great Detoxing Food – Beets are also a great detoxing food because they contain glutathione-S-transferase which binds with toxins and allows them to be excreted from the body. And beets detox and stimulate good liver function.

Lots of Fiber – Beets contain lots of fiber and fiber is important for creating a good environment for the growth of probiotics in our gut thus boosting up our immune system… plus they prevent constipation.

Fat-Free and Cholesterol Free – Beets are virtually fat-free and contain no cholesterol of any kind—they are good food.

Good for the Lungs – Beets help to prevent lung challenges such as asthma and bronchitis because they contain lots of antioxidants that help to fight off inflammation.

One Beet a Day Will Keep the Doctor Away – Eating one beet a day will keep the doctor away. Beets are full of lots of nutrients such as Vitamin A for preventing inflammation, B Vitamins for good mood and vitality, phosphorus for strong bones, magnesium and manganese for enzyme production, potassium for cardiovascular health and water regulation, Vitamin C and beta-carotene for boosting up our immune system and preventing disease.

Lots of Beet Recipes – Google “Red Beet Recipes” and lots of wonderful ways to fix beets will come up.

Finding – Almost any good supermarket will have red beets and beets are easy to grow.

Tops Edible – And green beet tops are edible and amazingly healthy too.

Remember to Eat Organic – Regular beets can contain up to 6 cancer causing chemicals, 12 hormone-disrupting chemicals, and 10 other disease causing chemicals— Eat Organic and Stay Healthy.
