Yesterday, I met a man who lost his job, feel ill, needs knee surgery and has so much stress that he can’t think straight. And he is not the only one that has this kind of stress. And stress creates adrenaline and cortisol and those two chemicals and others get the body ready for a fight or flight situations. It’s as thought a lion is chasing a person and the body puts out these chemicals to constrict peripheral blood to bring blood to the core of the body and stop a person from bleeding in case they are attacked. And it also gives them a huge burst of energy in order to escape the threat. But if this keeps going on day and night— day after day this creates negative consequences called stress.

Everyone has turned on their computer and opened up word processing program, then their email, then a graphics program, and then something else and then another program and all of a sudden the computer locks up and won’t function. Well, the same thing happens with our mind. We start thinking— I have to take the kids to school, pick up the dry cleaning, go grocery shopping, get to the bank, make it to my dentist appointment on time and on and on. And that’s about the time we start to feel stressed out, overwhelmed, and full of anxiety… and we have a very hard time functioning and our immune system becomes depressed and we get sick and have disease set in.

For the past 100 years, things have been moving faster and faster and the human brain has not really changed. In fact, with too much stress there is a degradation of our gray matter over time. But we have the answer! People like Pramamahansa Yogananda, Lao Tzu, Swami Vivekananda, Buddha, Ramana Maharshi, Krishna, the Christian Monks, and many more have been using a powerful way of calming and healing their minds for thousands of years. And this healing process even makes our brains bigger and better.

What Can We Do to Over Come This Stress?

The Way to Do is to Be – Lao Tzu 

There have been thousands of studies showing that when we sit down for 30 minutes twice a day with our eyes closed and concentrate on our breathing our adrenaline and cortisol levels go down. And our feelings of dread and anxiety go dissipate… and eventually disappear completely. And with daily practice, a great feeling of peace takes over. And life flows easily because we don’t have all that negative crazy thinking running through our head. And our prefrontal cortex of our brain gets bigger… amazing!

The Answer is Here-Now!

The answer to stress is talk talked about in all the spiritual texts— “Be Still and and Ye Shall Know My Name”.

It just takes daily practice… but if I can do it… so can you
