“What to Believe When it Comes to Medical Research”

“50% of All Medical Research is False”

I hate to say anything negative but once in a while, you have to step up and say what’s going on.

1/2 or More of All Medical Research is False Information

I have people that come to me with herbal questions and they quote medical research papers. And there are so many different points of view that there is no way to understand it all. What can we do?

Most Research is False Information – The editor and chief of one of the most prestigious peer-reviewed medical journals around “Lancet” came out and said that 1/2 of all the scientific medical research is false… and I believe it’s really more like 75% which is false information. Dr. Richard Horton the editor and chief of one of the most respected medical journals in the world “Lancet” came out and said that more than 1/2 of all medical research is false information.

Here is his quote – “The case against science is straightforward: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness.”

And Dr. Marcia Angell the editor and chief of the New England Journal of Medicine came out and said the same thing. Here is what she said…

“It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of the New England Journal of Medicine”

Dr. Horton also said and I paraphrase here… that companies and manufacturers know of dangers of their products but they don’t report them… and that is fraud.

From my perspective it basically it goes like this… if you like the research you omit the parts you don’t like and make a research paper in your favor in order to get whatever you want.

This is not true research at all.

And the BBC reported in their article about “Fake Research Comes Under Scrutiny” that fake research happens all the time, with hundreds of research articles from 23 universities with false information saying “There are growing concerns around the world over research integrity.”

And basically, no one is doing anything… because the big companies hold the purse strings to institutions and thus it’s all tied up in a neat and pretty package.

So it’s more important to listen to research with a huge grain of salt… in fact maybe a big block of salt… it’s more than likely, not real.

But there is some good research and we have to listen with our heart. If it rings true then listen, if it doesn’t ring true then don’t.

I only quote medical research because people demand it… very interesting.

This is nothing new, this information has been out there for a while now. So the next time you are going to read or quote some medical research remember it may or may not be true.
