There are a lot of mean people in the world, especially now, and we can get angry with them or we can have compassion for them. Here is a quick and simple process that anyone can learn in order to have compassion for these people. This is a very simple 3 or 4-minute process.
First – Visualize that person as a tiny newborn infant. See them being helpless, see them needing someone to care for them.
Second – See that child being neglected and growing up without love. See him or her feeling empty and wondering what life is all about.
Third – Feel that child’s pain, close your eyes and feel what they are feeling deep down inside. Feel how their heartaches and wants love so badly but they don’t know how to show it.
Fourth – Visualize yourself holding that child on your lap. And see yourself caring for him or her and telling him how much you love him.
Fifth – Hug that child like your own child… and feel the peace that child feels when he feels loved.
Sixth – Now forgive yourself for getting angry with that child, for these children don’t know what they are doing, they just lashing out at the world.
Seventh – Forget about the whole thing… and never bring it to mind again.
Eighth – Move on with life… and don’t look back.
This process works best if repeated 3 or 4 times a day. It only takes 3 or 4 minutes and will make all the difference in the world.
And after a while, you will have great compassion for these people because you see them as that child.
