The Relaxed Soul on “Letting Go of Anger Because of Loss”

DSCN4649 copyA person contacted me and wanted to know how we can exchange anger for love when we have lost a loved one.

Here is my reply:

First of all it’s not easy when we love someone so very much.

But if that person came back and sat down beside you and talked to you… do you think they would want you to be angry?

They are at peace now, and in the distant future you will see them again on the other side… of that I have no doubt.

Also anger only leads to high blood pressure, arthritis, cancer, gastroenteritis and more… it’s not healthy… and this has been proven.

Most of all… the one we have to love first is the one we see in the mirror… otherwise we will not take care of ourselves, eat right, exercise, or do anything that is loving for our mind, body, and spirit. And being angry is the opposite of loving ourselves.

Plus our grieving process must allow for tears, and allow our feelings to come out… otherwise our emotions become trapped in our mind/body and play havoc with our mind and body.

I knew a woman who grieved for her daughter who died in a car crash – she grieved for 15 years.

Then she came down with cancer… this is not uncommon.

We have to have an end point to our grieving and go on… and enjoy life.

In the end… it comes down to forgive, put it all aside in our mind, and move on with life.

Sometimes this takes time… but it also takes effort.

So yes we can exchange anger for love… it’s absolutely important for our well being and our health.

It’s not easy… but it will happen.

We must remember that the departed one is not gone, they are on the other side of the veil… they are there with loved ones waiting for us in total bliss.

And they want us to go on with our life and be happy.

In fact when my father died I was in total grief… but one night my father came to me and was standing at the foot of my bed.

My father told me he love me, and that he was fine and loved the other side… and that I had to go on with my life.

So I decided it was time to move on, I would not forget my father… I would remember him and all the good times we had together.

And hold those memories fondly and be happy, happy that we had the time that we had together… no matter how short. (my father died a the age of 57)

After that everything changed for me.

Remember always center your mind on love, it’s the first and foremost important nutrient needed for a long happy life.
