This is a luscious tasting and super sweet fruit that grows on a shrub that grows in the American Tropics. And new science is now showing that this fruit has many health benefits. And this fruit is not the same as Soursop fruit… that’s a whole different tree.
Where it Grows – This s Caribbean, Florida, Hawaii, Polynesia, Mexico, Australia, Africa, Central and South America, and other places in the world such as Asian, India, Indonesia, and many other places.
Other Names – Also called in Latin – Annona squamosa, and other common names are Custard Apple, Sugar-Apple, Annon and many other names.
Small Tree – This shrub is also a small tree that grows to be about 20 feet tall.
Taste – This fruit reminds me of custard and it is very sweet, and it’s creamy and has a cream or white color inside… really delicious.
Full of Vitamin C – Vitamin C is one of the most powerful antioxidants that we have and this fruit contains lots of wonderful healing antioxidants that help to prevent and heal DNA damage.
Helps with Arthritis – Sweetsop leaf tea is also great for inflammation and helping with arthritis and joint pain.
Making Sweetsop Leaf Tea – Take 3 or 4 leaves and place them in a cup of boiling water and let steep for 15 minutes and drink… drink 3 or 4 times a day for no more than 7 to 10 days.
Treating Diarrhea – Eating the unripe fruit heals diarrhea and helps with indigestion. Also, a tea made of the bark of the tree helps with diarrhea.
